The fountain head of energy

"When you are really sure, all your energy rises into action. Life is inert and boring when you do not know what you are really doing."

~Acharya Prashant ji.

From the book, "Milestones to Success"

Reflection:

"Life is boring."

"I am not interested to do anything.

 "I feel lack of energy."

Boredom is the most common complaint we hear from anybody, whether he is a student or employee, a home maker or a professional, rich or poor, learned or illiterate, doesn't matter.  All are inflicted by boredom.

Why do I feel like lifeless?  Why there is no energy and enthusiasm in my actions? Why do I postpone and procrastinate?

The answer is simple - We don't know who we really are and we don't know what are we doing.

We had been cultured and habituated to follow others rather looking directly and acting from our own intelligence and understanding.  A two year old child would always look up to her mother for acceptance and approval to know whether her actions are right or wrong.  Initially parents teach the child the dos and don'ts and later through education, society, religion etc.,  It is inevitable up to certain age because the child is immature biologically and also dependent on others.

At the age of 13, our brain becomes fully matured to think on its own and understand.  This is called as the age of inflection in modern psychology.  Now, the child must be encouraged to look at the life through his own eyes. He must be given an environment to grow as an individual.  But, the society never lets the child to be free and independent, but tries to make him as an obedient member of the society and thus control him.

Especially, in our society (India), parents only decide everything for their children, like career, marriage, job etc.  Money is the measuring unit of success in our society.  Nobody asks the child what does he really love to study or do.  He might be loving something else which will not fetch money. He will not be allowed to choose that he loves.

He/She is studying not because of the love for thee subject, but for the marks and result.  He is not getting into a job because he loves to do that, but the job is highly paid. He is not getting married because of love or the company of other person is elevating, but it is a social norm and compulsion.  Everybody is getting married and if I am not, then, I will be odd man out. I am feeling lonely. Who will cook for me if my mother becomes old?   Who will take care of me in old age?  There are so many reasons for marriage, but mostly not for the sake of love, a true love.

The office is suffocating because we really don't love the job.  We suffer the toxic environment of the office for 30 days to get the salary on the first day of the month.  Loveless in work, greed for salary.  Can we avoid boredom if we work like this?

The depression and suicide rate in youths is increasing day by day.  The reason behind this alarming situation is, they have fallen on the trap of social media.  Their life is no more their life. They are motivated and influenced by somebody else.

When this life is not yours, when you are living it according to a script, then how will you have the energy in living it?

The only solution to this boredom to live the life attentively.  We never question. That is the big mistake.  Ask real questions and look at your daily life carefully and honestly.  The solution lies in honest observation our daily life. I have only one life, this is precious for me.  I should not waste it.  I can't allow others to live my life.  I must ask and know.  What is duty?  What is respect?  Why do I need to earn more money?  Why marriage is compulsory?  Do I really need to stay in this job?  We must ask such questions with ourselves.

Know yourself.   Do not wait for somebody else to tell you what to do and flow accordingly.  Find it yourself.  Understand the functions of your mind, its fears, insecurities,  ambitions, expectations and the influence of others over your mind.

And, once you discover that for yourself, not told by somebody else, there will be great freedom and energy.  Then, you are alive and young.
